Reminder for Black Lion – 2016 Reunion

Dear Black Lions,

This merely a reminder to put our Black Lions Reunion on your calendar and make reservations for this once in a lifetime event. Our October reunion will be in Tifton Georgia this year. Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is dedicating a special place to permanently house the Medal Of Honor belonging to 2LT Harold “Pinky” Durham resulting from actions during the Battle of Ong Thanh, Oct 17, 1967. Along with the Medal of Honor will be all of Pinky Durham’s Memorabilia that was collected and safeguarded by Pinky’s Brother John Durham and his wife Marilyn over the last 49 years. Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is the college that 2LT Durham attended before going to Viet Nam and Tifton, Georgia is where he is buried. While some may not agree with this deviation from Las Vegas, 2LT Durham died that day performing extraordinary actions to save the lives of Black Lions and many Black Lions survived the battle due to 2LT Durham’s heroics. This is an important event for all Black Lions, the Durham family and the College. I am hoping you can attend.
Attached are both the invitation and application form.
Please mail application directly to me along with a check or money order made out to me for $35 per person. Your Association is not hosting this, I am, and monies are separate.

Dear Fellow Black Lions,
2016 Black Lion October Reunion – Tifton, Georgia

Medal of Honor recipient 2LT Harold “Pinky” Durham, KIA 10/17/67, will be honored at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) located in Tifton, Georgia. The college has dedicated a special place and permanent home for Pinky’s Medal and other memorabilia donated by his brother John Durham, and John’s wife Marilyn, of Texas.

College President, Dr. Dave Bridges, has invited each of us to attend this special event. To me, it is appropriate we relocate our normal Vegas reunion to Tifton this one time. I have been working with the college to set up a suitable hotel bus to take everyone from the hotel to the college on Thursday, and other events that may appeal to you or your spouse.
I am requesting $35 per person to cover incidental expenses and our hospitality meeting room. Please send directly to me at 2805 Alabama Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55416 Questions? 612.408-5731
